The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and ex-European Parliament President Martin Schulz held a meeting in Davos.

«The interlocutors exchanged views on the extension of EU sanctions against Russia in connection with its aggression against Ukraine, the introduction of a visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU», — stated in the message.
Poroshenko expressed his sincere gratitude to Schulz for his constant and unwavering support for Ukraine, its independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the «European choice during his tenure as President of the European Parliament».
We will remind that yesterday, on 17 January in Strasbourg on the fourth of the secret ballot as the new head of the European Parliament elected the representative of the European people’s party Antonio Tajani.
Tajani, following his election, said that does not have its own political programme, as it intends to be guided by the program of the European Parliament. Tajani listed the main actual problems of which intends to do as President of the Assembly: terrorism, immigration, economic growth, social policy and employment, digital economy, energy issues, and the protection of European values.
