Poroshenko and Lukashenko discussed the Belarusian-Ukrainian relations

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a phone conversation with Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on 27 February, the press service of the head of state.

«The interlocutors discussed topical issues on the agenda of Belarusian-Ukrainian relations, particularly the development of bilateral political dialogue and future contacts at the highest level», – stated in the message.

It is emphasized that Poroshenko and Lukashenko «noted the importance of proper training to conduct this year in Gomel the first forum of regions of Belarus and Ukraine».

«In this context, they talked about intensification of trade-economic and cultural component of the interregional cooperation,» – said the press service.

18 Feb 2018 Lukashenko said that Belarus is ready to send peacekeepers Donbass, with appropriate agreements between Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On 19 February the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Elena zerkal reported that Belarus is a member of the collective security Treaty, and therefore could not participate in the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbas.
