Pence urged Latin American countries to break off relations with DPRK

Vice-President Mike Pence called on the countries of Latin America, particularly Chile, Peru, Mexico and Brazil to break «all diplomatic and commercial ties» with North Korea, the press service of the White house.

Pens said on August 16 at a briefing in Santiago, where he arrived for a meeting with President of Chile Michelle Bachelet.

According to the Vice-President said the situation in North Korea «you can see the progress, but much more needs to be done.»

On 5 August the UN Security Council approved a resolution suggesting the introduction of additional sanctions against the DPRK. According to estimates of the United States, which made this initiative, the full observance of the restrictions will allow $1 billion cut in the annual monetary income of Pyongyang.

North Korea said in response that will not give up nuclear weapons.
