Patients for treatment overseas will be sent via the new system

The Ministry of health and the Ministry of Finance changed the approach to the allocation of funds and sending patients for treatment abroad. This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of health and the Ministry of Finance, promulgated on 23 January. As noted, the health Ministry, a special Commission, which is responsible for the reception of documents, maintenance of records and determine the list of patients on overseas treatment which will be allocated.

Usually the money was transferred to the Ministry of health equal installments three times a year. This means that groups of patients also were sent three times per year in accordance with their condition, and given the receipt of funds.

Now the Finance Ministry has agreed to transfer funds for the entire year during the first quarter.

«Because of this, by the end of March we will receive the entire annual amount for sending patients abroad. This means that patients can go for treatment when they need it», — said in a statement.

Earlier it was reported that 12 soldiers are being treated abroad, including four in Hungary, three in Germany, two in USA and Italy and one in Latvia. In addition, 28 participants of the ATO are treated in the sanatorium-resort establishments of the armed forces.
