Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrey Parubiy and the group of people’s deputies of Ukraine sent an open letter to the parliaments of member countries of the European Union, USA, Canada, Japan and European Parliament with a request to call on Russia to stop the escalation of the situation in the Donbas.
«In connection with the aggravation of the situation in the Donbas and the permanent attempts of the Russian occupation troops to deploy offensive on Avdiivka I, along with Anna hopko, Irina Gerashchenko, Maria Ionova, Igor Prinivil, Maksym Burbak has sent an open letter to the parliamentarians of the free world», — he wrote on his page in Facebook on Tuesday, 31 January 2017.
A letter addressed to the parliaments of member countries of the European Union, the USA, Canada and Japan, and the European Parliament.
«We would be grateful if the leadership of your parliaments will publicly call on the Russian authorities to strict compliance with all international obligations and the termination of the deliberate aggravation of the situation on the security and humanitarian situation in Donbass», — quotes Parubiy open letter.
Ukrainian parliamentarians in his message, stated that Russia does not refuse from the policy of escalation of the conflict on the temporarily occupied part of Donbass.
«29 January 2017, breaking the silence of illegal armed groups launched attacks on the Armed forces of Ukraine in the city of Avdeevka. The attacks are carried out in the Minsk agreements prohibited MLRS «Grad», artillery of calibre of 152 mm, 122 mm, mortar 120 mm and 82 mm, tanks and small arms. Deputies also draw the world’s attention on the critical humanitarian situation in Avdeyevka — in the shelling from the Russian side were damaged power lines, as well as a number of vital infrastructure, which led to the shutdown of water supply systems.

Representatives of the Verkhovna Rada stressed that for the solution to the situation in the town should immediately begin to repair damaged facilities and vital infrastructure, however, due to ongoing attacks by illegal armed groups and communal services can not begin repair of the work.
People’s deputies of Ukraine believe that the situation in the town indicates the need to increase the presence of international organizations that monitor the situation in the Donbass, and the deployment of armed police mission of the OSCE in the Donbas.
«The crime committed by Russian-terrorist forces against the civilian population in the town, once again showed that only the strengthening of sanctions against the Russian Federation and the international consolidation of efforts can stop the escalation of events at the front,» — said in the text of the document.
«We, the deputies, appeal to you to use all the mechanisms of governmental and inter-parliamentary diplomacy and increase the pressure on the official Kremlin», — stated in the letter.
