Parliament has urged foreign parliaments to condemn Russia for the attack on Avdeevka

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the resolution on Appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to parliaments of foreign States and international organizations regarding the condemnation of the escalation of armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine (no. 6039).

For this decision voted 258 deputies out of 338 registered in the session hall, UNIAN reports.

Faction «Opposition bloc» none of the MPs supported the resolution, and group «will of the people» and «Renaissance» – two deputies.

Thus, the Verkhovna Rada calls on the parliaments of foreign States and international organizations to condemn Russia for violating the ceasefire provided by the Minsk agreements, the intentional destruction of irregular and regular armed forces of Russia of the city of Avdeevka of Donetsk region, brutal attacks on objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population.

The Ukrainian Parliament also calls on the parliaments of foreign States and international organizations to take all possible measures contributing to the cessation of indiscriminate attacks by regular and irregular armed forces of the Russian Federation on objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population that will prevent a humanitarian disaster in the plant.

In addition, Parliament calls on the parliaments of foreign States and international organizations to take action to prevent further escalation of armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and its termination.

The Verkhovna Rada also asked the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe to promote better compliance by the Russian Federation of the ceasefire regime in the Donbas, in particular, near the city of Avdeevka of Donetsk region.

Parliament calls on international organizations, civil society representatives, human rights organizations to investigate cases of serious violations of international humanitarian law during the current escalation of armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine, in particular, the possible Commission of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

At the same time, the Parliament instructs the General Prosecutor’s office to send to the international criminal court materials and documents, which testify to the violation of international humanitarian law during the escalation of the military aggression of the Russian Federation in the framework of the production, which is the ISS in accordance with the Decree of February 4, 2015 No. 145-VIII «On statement of the Verkhovna Rada «On the recognition of Ukraine jurisdiction of the International criminal court on crimes against humanity and war crimes of the highest officials of the Russian Federation and leaders of terrorist organizations» DNR «and» LNR «, which led to particularly serious consequences and mass murder of Ukrainian citizens».

Recall, January 31 the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrey Parubiy and the group of people’s deputies of Ukraine sent an open letter to the parliaments of member countries of the European Union, USA, Canada, Japan and European Parliament with a request to call on Russia to stop the escalation of the situation in the Donbas.
