On the local elections register 125 international observers

October 7 regular meeting of the Central election Commission, which was held by Commission Chairman Mikhail Okhendovsky. About it reports Department of interaction with mass media of the Secretariat of the Commission.

According to the report, having considered the relevant appeals, the Commission has recorded 1 official observer from the Office for democratic institutions and human rights of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe and 8 — from the European network of organizations monitoring elections (ENEMO) at the next elections of deputies of local councils and rural , settlement and city mayors, the first election of deputies of councils of United territorial communities and relevant village, settlement and city mayors on October 25, 2015.

Thus, as of October 7, 2015 the total number of registered international official observers at local elections is 125 people.

Including 5 people from Estonian Republic 96 — from the OSCE / ODIHR, 16 — from the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America and 8 from the European network of organizations monitoring elections (ENEMO), underlined in the message.

We will remind, on July 14, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the new law on local elections should be by proportional representation, rural councils — by the majority system. The law excludes the participation of political blocs.

Elections are not held in the annexed Crimea and the Ukrainian authorities uncontrolled part of Donbass. The possibility of elections controlled by the Ukrainian authorities territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions will determine the Central electoral Commission.

Elections are scheduled for 25 October.
