2018 should be the year of low cost airlines in Ukraine. This was stated by Minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian, reported the press service of the Cabinet on December 30.
According to the Omelyan, for two years, the aviation sector of Ukraine increased by 30%.
«That is why, in our deep conviction, 2018 should be the year to expand the presence of budget airlines in Ukraine, If in 2015 the low-cost airline carried out flights for 18 to overhead lines, in 2017, the number increased two times, serviced by 38 airlines,» said Omeljan.
In the message Oksana that in 2017, the airport «Lviv» crossed the mark of 1 million passengers annually and the airport «Borispol» – 10 million Notes that prior to this 1 million passengers at the Lviv airport was in 1992.
According to the Omelyan, Boryspil airport passenger traffic growths in 2017, 45%.
«The Ukrainians are willing and able to fly, and we should give them that opportunity,» said Omeljan.
According to him, the arrival of new low cost airlines to the Ukrainian market will increase the number of passengers to 71 million in 2030.
«It should also ensure rapid growth in annual passenger traffic to regional and local airports. It will give more than 800 thousand new jobs by 2030 and will have a positive impact on GDP growth up to 65 billion UAH. in 2030, namely 16 billion – the revenues of the airports; 18 billion from construction and maintenance of airports; 8 billion will bring the development of trade; 22 billion tourism sector,» – said the Minister.
