According to him, in Ukraine, the 44 cities with number of voters more than 90 thousand, and it is in these cities, according to the law «On local elections», elections of mayors are held by the majority system of absolute majority.
However, 9 of these cities are in the territory Russia annexed the Crimea and occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
Thus, in 35 cities on 25 October, the candidates for mayor will have to obtain more than 50% of the vote, or else there will be a second round of elections.

From October 23 to mass media, information agencies and other entities are prohibited to publish or disseminate the results of local elections-related public opinion polls, or comment on the ratings of parties and candidates.

«Mass media, information agencies, other entities are prohibited within the last two days before the voting day to publish or otherwise disseminate the results of the opinion poll related to elections, including the local organizations of parties — subjects of election process, candidates, or to comment on the ratings of candidates, local organizations of parties», — stated in part 3 of article 53 of the law.
On the election day surveys of voters regarding their voting during the voting is permitted, but to publish the results of these polls only after the end of voting.
Campaigning will be banned from October 24.
Voting will begin at 08:00 on 25 October and will last until 20:00.
