Ogryzko: If we cross all the limits, the abolition of bezveza and personal sanctions by the EU cannot be ruled out

If because of corruption in Ukraine, the European Union will cancel a visa-free regime, Ukrainian society is very hard it will react, he said in comments to the edition «GORDON» the former Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ogryzko.

«The emergence of the EU issue on the suspension bezveza with Ukraine is a hint that such things can not play. In the West, very carefully analyze everything about corruption. Any step, and even more ago, immediately fixed. This is really serious. Our officials who do not think about the future of Ukraine, and about the corruption schemes, it’s time to get serious. Because it can result in serious setbacks. And the reaction in this case will be very hard. This corruption affects a very sensitive topic which is illegal immigration. The scandal with the State migration service revealed that an official of high rank, perhaps (it is not known yet, it should be decided by the court), was involved in the scheme, which posed a threat to Western countries,» – said Ogryzko.

According to him, the EU may resort to the introduction of personal sanctions against Ukrainian officials and the cancellation of visa-free regime with Ukraine.

«Poland and Romania embarked on the path that the EU does not approve. Talking about questionable judicial reforms. In the European Union believe that they are contrary to the spirit and letter of the documents relating to the judicial branch. And what do we see? There is information from Brussels that if Poland will not stop, it can impose sanctions. And it is a member country of the EU. Therefore, if Ukraine will fulfill its commitments, the reaction of the EU will be adequate and very painful for us. First, of course, will notice. But if we cross all the limits, then the lifting bezveza and personal sanctions by the EU cannot be excluded», – said Ogryzko.

On 29 November, the security Service of Ukraine detained seven employees of the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine, who were working undercover.
