Odessa city Council recognized Russia as an aggressor

Odessa city Council today, February 2, the meeting adopted the decision to recognize Russia as an aggressor. The project was made directly in the conference room with the voice of a member of fraction «Trust deeds», the Chairman of the standing Committee in the city Council rule of parliamentary procedure, ethics and implementation of state regulatory policy by Dennis Balham, UNIAN reports.

In particular, the issue «On appeal of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the United Nations, the European Parliament, the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the parliamentary Assembly of GUAM national parliaments of the countries in the world on recognizing the Russian Federation an aggressor state».

During the draft decision voted 45 deputies out of 61 registered (total at the Odessa city Council 64 members).

We will remind, the Odessa city Council in the past year have repeatedly tried to consider the question of recognition of Russia as an aggressor, but at the last moment every time he was excluded from the agenda. So, on August 26, 2015 the city Council was unable to hold session for lack of quorum.

27 January 2015 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appealed to international organizations, particularly the United Nations, the European Parliament, the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the NATO parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE parliamentary Assembly, the parliamentary Assembly of GUAM national parliaments of the countries in the world on recognizing the Russian Federation an aggressor state. This decision was supported by most local councils.
