The Minister of culture of Ukraine Evgeny nisoc said that the National Dovzhenko film Studio can not be privatized because it’s an object that has a national status. He said this in comments to journalists, reports «UKRINFORM».
Nyshchuk said that the Studio is «a certain character» and the brand of Ukrainian cinema.
«Next year, the Studio celebrates 90 years. So we defend our symbolic objects, which can invest not only the state, but other partners, and to make so-called re-branding,» – said the Minister.
According to the head of the Ministry of culture, in cooperation with the film Studio interested French film company, which, in particular, want to rent and upgrade Studio facilities. Nyshchuk added that the Studio that are not used as intended, can transfer to concession or privatize it without changing the profile.
The inclusion of the Studio into the list of state objects which are subject to privatization in 2017-2020, initiated by the Ministry of economic development and trade. While the Ministry acknowledged that the status of the national makes the privatization of the Studio is impossible, so you will need to make changes to the legislation, writes «UKRINFORM».
General the Studio Director Oles Yanchuk said that information about the planned privatization of the Studio is erroneous. According to him, the first Deputy Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine Maxim nefodov «by mistake turned the Studio in the list of 800 of the objects offered for privatization.»
According to Yanchuk, Ministry of culture «has declared that the privatization will not.»
