Former Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Viktor Chernomyrdin was called the son of people’s Deputy from the Opposition bloc Vadim Novinsky. This MP told in the author’s program of Dmitry Gordon on the channel «112 Ukraine».

«Yes, in one interview he was asked: «Who is Vadim Novinsky?» And he said, «My son.» Not even during the interview – we were in the company, and he said about me,» said Novinsky.

On the question of how he remembered Chernomyrdin, the MP said: «It was a – you said a natural, original man, a native of Orenburg village, past a very bright path.»

«From a worker who graduated from the Kuibyshev Polytechnic Institute, to the Prime Minister, on whose shoulders was shouldered almost everything… was a crucial period, and very much was kept on Chernomyrdin. I heard about it from many Russian governors: in ’92,’ 93, ‘ 94 all the way to his house to get some help, and he helped everybody. The man of great soul, a huge heart! This block, now I see none. I’m sure if Victor Stepanovich as the Ambassador now… the huge amount of bad events between Russia and Ukraine is not exactly be,» said Novinsky.

Viktor Chernomyrdin died on 3 November 2010 on 73-m to year of life. From 2001 to 2009 he held the position of Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Ukraine, special representative of the President of Russia on development trading-economic relations with Ukraine. From 1992 to 1993 he was Chairman of the Russian government.
