Norway will provide Ukraine humanitarian assistance of 120 million UAH

Norway will provide Ukraine humanitarian assistance for a total amount of 40 million Norwegian kroner (about 120 million). This was stated by the state Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of the country Hattrem the Torah, according to LigaBusinessInform.

«The humanitarian situation in some regions of Ukraine are difficult. Five million people in need of humanitarian assistance, including some 1.5 million internally displaced persons,» said Norwegian state Secretary.

According to him, 20 million kroons will be directed to the Norwegian refugee Council, which oversees a number of programs in Eastern Ukraine. Another 20 million kroons will be channeled to the International Committee of the red cross, International organization for migration and the organization for mine clearance Halo Trust.

Hattrem also reminded that Norway’s support for Ukraine in the international arena is not unconditional.

«The future of Ukraine depends on its ability to implement far-reaching reforms,» he said.
