The hryvnia has topped the weekly list of the most devalued currencies, losing about 2% and setting a record in 2016 on the level of 25.7 UAH/USD. About this UNIAN news Agency reports with reference to Bloomberg.

«The hryvnia can lose up to 4.4%, what will be the biggest indicator of the devaluation of the General list of currencies that Bloomberg tracks», — stated in the message of Agency.

The reasons for the decline, according to financiers, is a small supply of hard currency from the national Bank of Ukraine, which aims to keep reserves until you receive the next credit tranche from the International monetary Fund.

As the newspaper notes, the IMF has postponed the decision on the third tranche had been due to stop in the implementation of the tax reform and problems in the budget process.

«And although the Fund is likely to take a positive decision on tranche in February, is unlikely to allow the national Bank of Ukraine to provide adequate assistance to importers who expect currency stability,» writes Bloomberg.

The Agency’s analysts note that since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has not received sufficient export earnings to meet the foreign exchange demand. However, they believe that the current devaluation may be temporary.

«As soon as Ukraine will receive IMF funds, and the market will see from the financial support of the country, the currency must appreciate — to 24 UAH per dollar», — noted in the Agency, referring to Gontareva, who confirms that devaluation is seasonal.
