Nalyvaychenko proposes to strengthen responsibility for the looting during the war

The leader of the movement «Justice» and former head of the SBU Valentyn Nalyvaychenko said that the Parliament needs to strengthen control over the use of public funds allocated for the defense of the country. He declared it on air of TV channel NewsOne.

«The issue of national security and parliamentary control over the use of public funds for the defense is the obligation of the Parliament. And do not pretend that this is a political discussion. The control should be,» he said.

Nalivaychenko believes that the Parliament should strengthen the responsibility for the misappropriation of public funds, allocated for defense.

«MPs should adopt a law providing severe penalties for looting during the war. That is something that ratcheted up the price to exorbitant prices sold to the fighters no matter what it is, or ammunition, food, weapons,» — said ex-Chairman of SBU.

Nalivaychenko believes that the law must provide for «the absence of a Statute of limitations for looting during the war». He argues that this practice is valid, in particular, in Croatia, which has successful experience of reintegration of their own territory that was seized by the Serbs during the conflict.

«They returned to the site, but all the officials, all suppliers of whole life in Croatia and knew, and were punished for looting during war,» he said.

«The obligations of Parliament to enact such a law to looting during the war was unacceptable by the law and the punishment was as much as possible,» — said Nalyvaychenko.

Earlier it became known that Croatia can help Ukraine reintegrate the occupied territories.
