Moody’s increased the credit rating of Ukraine

International rating Agency Moody’s upgraded the ratings of the government of Ukraine in Ukrainian and foreign currency by one notch to «Caa3» to «Caa2», and changed the Outlook from «stable» to «positive», reported on the Agency’s website.

This decision was explained by the influence of structural reforms and considerable strengthening of positions of Ukraine in the world.

Rating has improved only one position, as in the next few years Ukraine will face «a heavy burden of external debt service,» which will require additional funding in foreign currency, said Moody’s.

It is noted that if the reforms in Ukraine will be continuous, they can lead to further improving the sustainability of the Ukrainian internal and foreign debt.

Moody’s raised the government’s Issuer rating of Ukraine from «Ca» to «Caa3» and changed the Outlook from «negative» to «stable» in November 2015 in connection with the restructuring of debt totaling $15 billion.

In may 2016, Moody’s improved the Outlook for Ukraine’s banking system from «negative» to «stable».
