Media: the Ukrainian Ambassador to the Czech Republic wanted to bail former adviser to Yanukovych

The Ukrainian Embassy in the Czech Republic was trying to rescue from prison, a man who was accused of collaborating with terrorists. It is reported by the Czech edition of MF today.

We are talking about Aliha Fayade, who was arrested in Prague in April 2014.

His extradition was demanded by the US – according to their charges, Fayad, together with two other men, tried to sell cocaine and weapons to the agents of the National Bureau for control over drug trafficking, undercover and posing as members of the Colombian terrorist organization FARC.

According to the publication, Fayad has a Ukrainian passport and even was an adviser to Viktor Yanukovych. Czech media admits that the reason for the extradition request could be the interest of the United States about the illicit arms trade in Ukraine.

The publication notes that the Ukrainian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Borys Zaychuk in 2014 tried to dismiss Fayyad out of jail, make bail. Cited his letter to the then Minister of justice of the Czech Republic, says «a month after the arrest of Fayyad». In it, the diplomat was interested in the amount of the Deposit, asserting that Fayed did not commit any crimes.

It is worth noting that last week, a Czech court decided to deny the United States extradition Fayyad. The U.S. decision has already called it «shocking». Now Fahad went to Beirut, where, according to unconfirmed reports, was again arrested.
