Radio station «Kommersant FM» reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) yacht «Pallada». The ship was seen on 12 July at the shores of the island during the visit of Vladimir Putin to the Valaam monastery.

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov has denied the information that the yacht «Pallada» is a gift to Vladimir Putin. According to him, in the media, «a lot written», but not always this is true.

In a press-service of the monastery at the request of Interfax said that the boat in the gift of the Russian Orthodox Church for the needs of the Valaam monastery gave the company «LUKOIL».

According to the official portal of the Republic of Karelia, the yacht “Pallada” was on balance of administrative Department of the President of the Russian Federation, but the company “LUKOIL” bought it and gave Valaam Transfiguration monastery in 2005. Then its cost was estimated at $4 million.
