Maryna Poroshenko has headed the Ukrainian cultural Fund

The Minister of culture of Ukraine Yevhen Nyshchuk 19 January appointed the first lady Marina Poroshenko, the head of the Ukrainian cultural Fund. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of culture.

It is noted that Poroshenko’s candidacy was supported by all members of the Supervisory Board of the Fund unanimously.

«I am convinced that the Ukrainian cultural Fund will contribute to the modernization of the cultural sector, to support the cultural development of communities in a decentralized environment, to integrate the national idea in the country, to encourage the development of creative young generation, to support start-UPS of cultural and artistic projects through a transparent system of competitions, to develop the research activities of the art community, and to cooperate with the Ukrainian Diaspora and to present a positive image of Ukraine in the world,» said the first lady.

Also, a competition was announced for the position of Executive Director of the Foundation, it will last from 22 January until 2 February 2018.

March 23, 2017, the Verkhovna Rada endorsed the draft law No. 5491 of the Ukrainian cultural Fund – budgetary institution, which will perform special functions to promote national-cultural development of the country. President Petro Poroshenko signed it on 21 April 2017.
