«Main transmission of power in another institution from the presidency». Venediktov told Putin can stay in power after 2024

Russian President Vladimir Putin will not leave power after the elections of the President in 2024. Such opinion on air of radio station «Echo of Moscow» was expressed by its chief editor Alexei Venediktov.

«But the Constitution directly forbids him to take the presidency. This means that, if my hunch is correct, and that Mr Putin is not going away in the 24th year, this means that companies need to change the configuration of power and the transfer of primary power to another institution from the presidency,» he said.

According to Glavred «Echo of Moscow», to make amendments to Russian legislation will be «very difficult» because of the need to amend many laws.

«So it would be logical – I support the logic of those who thinks (apparently, no one I think, probably, the two of us, I mean those who made this law, MP) – I think the logic is this: the law was adopted slowly, there is nothing to drive, now elections will be held – on the constitutional meeting; then the decision on carrying out of the constitutional Council, after which the constitutional meeting produces change, correction of the Constitution, not to talk about a different Constitution where the power goes to the head of the state Council, the head of the Union state, I don’t know… Change of mandate. Then the constitutional rules is a redistribution of power», – said Venediktov.

He noted that it can be done «in six years, easy.»

The next presidential elections will be held on 18 March 2018. The powers of the elected in 2018, the President will expire in 2024.

Putin has not voiced his decision to run for the 2018 elections.
