Lutsenko told about the convicts in the Maidan and prospects, the Hague

In the cases against Maidan activists sentenced 35 persons, relative to the 152 trials, about 190 persons under pre-trial investigation.

This was announced by Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko on air of the ICTV channel on November 21.

«I can say that done a Grand job 152 are in litigation with handed accusations from the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, 35 people have already received judicial sentences, and about 190 people are under suspicion and the pretrial investigation proceeds», — said Lutsenko.

«Case of Maidan», as noted Hromadske.Ua has 89 criminal proceedings in which investigate the murder of 91 persons (78 protesters and 13 security forces). The victims in the «case of Maidan» are the 1973 protesters and security forces around 900, in fact, about 9500 witnesses and suspects 193 of them wanted — 77, 30 cases pending in the courts.

«For three years in these cases was rendered on 9 sentences, but so far only one person is serving a sentence in prison. The rest got probation. 13 people are awaiting the commencement of a case or sentencing. All criminal proceedings are investigating 35 the investigators,» — said the media.

As reported, on October 22, the Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine – chief military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios reported that Lutsenko announced the head of the Department of special investigations of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Serhiy Gorbatyuk reprimand for improper organization of investigations of criminal proceedings against former senior officials of President Viktor Yanukovych, the defendants in the sanctions list of the European Union.

The new office created as part of the reorganization of the Department of special investigations of the GPU to improve the organization of work of the General Prosecutor’s office. According to the report of the GPU, Gorbatyuk will remain the head of the Department of special investigations, which is composed of 56 employees. The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko discussed with the Prosecutor of the International criminal court in the Hague prospects of a joint investigation of crimes against participants of peaceful protest on Maidan, war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Donbass and in the Crimea.

This was attorney General announced following the visit to the ICC in the Hague.

«Our delegation discussed prospects for joint investigations of crimes against participants of peaceful protest on Maidan, war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Donbass and in the Crimea as an unbroken chain of crimes of the state mafia Yanukovych and his Kremlin patrons,» — said Lutsenko.

«Thanked for a clear position on the recognition of the Russian aggression in Crimea and the Donbass. Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda emphasized the value of the information provided by the Prosecutor’s office, said a significant progress in our cooperation», — Lutsenko added.

In addition, Lutsenko declared that the consequence considers that it is impossible to consider separately the events on the Maidan, the events during the annexation of Crimea and events in Donbas.

According to Lutsenko, the ex-President Viktor Yanukovych has created an organized criminal group and in Association with others carried out crimes against Ukrainian citizens on the path of treason.

«We believe that this is one part of the crime, and we invite colleagues from the office of the ICC Prosecutor to prosecute the matter as a case of treason of the former President, killing on his orders, of hundreds of people, the beginning of an undeclared war of aggression, which led to the crimes against humanity and war crimes,» — said the Prosecutor General.

Lutsenko added that if the ICC will show in this investigation its efficiency, the Parliament of Ukraine ratified the Rome Statute.

«We believe that in this case, the ICC action will show the feasibility of accession to the Rome Statute as a whole. If the ICC now will prove its effectiveness in these two resonance for the Ukrainian people cases, I am sure that Parliament will approve the unanimous decision to join a reputable international agreement, the Rome Statute,» — said Lutsenko.

We will remind, in the evening of 20 November, Lutsenko went to the Hague for talks with representatives of the ICC on crimes against Maidan activists.

In February 2014, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the statement in the ICC about the recognition of Ukraine jurisdiction of the court on crimes against humanity of the highest officials of the state during Euromaidan.

However, the court in the Hague said the lack of sufficient evidence that the attacks on activists of the Maidan were planned.

The lawyer of the family of the Heavenly hundred Markin halabala has been reported that the matter about the attempted suppression of the Maidan, which was addressed by the International criminal court in the Hague, will be added to the documents provided by the families of the Heavenly hundred. According to him, the report of the court, these documents were not taken into account, but the decision is already made of their involvement. The Prosecutor was influenced by the fact that in the view of families proves the fact of organized violent actions of the authorities towards the protesters of the Maidan.

Note, 15 November, the international criminal court in the Hague likened the situation in the territory of the Crimea and Sevastopol to the international armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
