Lutsenko: the Prosecutor General had no right to detain Mikhail Dobkin in Parliament

The Prosecutor General’s office has no right to detain deprived of immunity of people’s deputies without a court order. As the correspondent of the edition «GORDON», this was said in the Parliament, the Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko, commenting on the Verkhovna Rada’s decision to consent to the removal of immunity, the detention and arrest of MP from the Opposition bloc Mikhail Dobkin.

«To hold a people’s Deputy, the articles on corruption, a court decision was required. Only the National anti-corruption Bureau and the Specialized anticorruption Prosecutor’s office have the right to exercise preventive detention without a court decision», – said Lutsenko.

He recalled that Dobkin is caused by the GPU at 14.00 on July 14. Lutsenko hopes that the court sanction, the time will be obtained.

«Tomorrow we will go to court to elect a measure of restraint Dobkin in the form of detention for a period of two months», – he said, adding that the politician will be able to make bail, «adequate to the loss he caused Kharkov community».

Today the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine gave consent to criminal prosecution, detention and arrest Dobkin. The MP said that he expected a detention at the exit of the hall of the Parliament.
