Lutsenko in London spoke about the investigation of crimes against Maidan and the cases against ex-officials

Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko has informed the representatives of the foreign Ministry, the interior Ministry, the crown prosecution service and the tax and customs charges in the UK on the results of the investigation of criminal proceedings against former officials and involved individuals, as well as on the investigation of crimes during the revolution of Dignity.

As reported in GPU, the meeting was held during the official visit of the delegation of the Prosecutor General in London.

«The purpose of the visit is to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation and further institutional support of the Ministry. The meeting noted the positive developments on these issues and expressed interest in greater cooperation between departments, including the execution of requests for international legal assistance and extradition», — noted in GPU.

We will note, the evening of 20 November, Lutsenko went to the Hague for talks with representatives of the ICC on crimes against Maidan activists. He discussed with the Prosecutor of the International criminal court in the Hague prospects of a joint investigation of crimes against participants of peaceful protest on Maidan, war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Donbass and in the Crimea.

As you know, in the UK it was the MP Oleksandr Onishchenko, who is suspected of organizing schemes of theft of funds in the extraction and sale of natural gas in the framework of agreements on joint activities with JSC «Ukrgazvydobuvannia», with the result that the state suffered damage amounting to about 3 billion UAH.

The Verkhovna Rada gave its consent to the involvement of Onishchenko to justice, detention and arrest, but on the eve of the vote, taking advantage of the status of MP, Onishchenko left Ukraine.

August 8, the people’s Deputy declared in the national search. In October, the NAB announced. Interpol within 30 days must report its decision to declare Onishchenko, in an international arrest warrant for his further detention and election to it measures of restraint.

On 5 November the Director of NABU Artem Sytnik said that Onishchenko on «gas business» can be applied the procedure of conviction, the investigation will be completed before the end of this year.
