The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko officially handed over the suspect and explained the law to the people’s Deputy of Ukraine from «people’s front» Maxim Polyakov and non-faction people’s Deputy Borislav Rosenblatt. About this Lutsenko said during a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, reports the press service of the GPU.
«Tomorrow they are summoned for the first interrogation in the status of suspects in a National anti-corruption Bureau and the Specialized anticorruption Prosecutor’s office,» he said.
The attorney General noted that the appeal to the court to change the measure of restraint in respect of these MPs is impossible, as the Parliament voted for this opportunity.
«They will obviously be a preventive measure not involving deprivation of liberty, for example, personal guarantee, bail and so on,» he said.
Lutsenko added that the detention of people’s deputies on corruption criminal offenses must the court’s decision. However, NABU and SAP shall have exclusive authority and right to detain a person without court decision in the case of the provision by Parliament permit.
