Luhansk oblast may be left without light, — OSCE

First Deputy head of the OSCE mission in Ukraine Alexander hug stated that it was necessary to solve urgent human problems in the Donbas. He said this during a briefing, reports UKRINFORM.

«There is a possibility that people in the Luhansk region, on both sides of the collision, will celebrate the holidays without electricity and heating. Their electricity and heating will depend on those who pay the bills. The last two months, they were paid Committee of the red cross. Unless urgent intervention of the competent authorities, the delivery just stops,» he noted.

First Deputy head of the OSCE mission said that the people will be left without facilities due to the economic collapse, which was created by the officials.

According to him, often people are forced to seek work in non-government controlled parts of the Donbass region due to economic turmoil.

Luhansk is the only region of Ukraine which is disconnected from the unified energy system of the country due to the fact that the local power transmission was interrupted because of hostilities.

Thermal power plant in the city Happiness the only source of electricity for the residents of the North of the Luhansk region. The station has several times stopped work from-for attacks of fighters.

In February 2015 it was reported that the occupied territories of the Luhansk region completely switched to electricity from Russia.
