«BLUE/YELLOW (a volunteer organization established by Obmanom and other volunteers in Vilnius, collected in Lithuania and Europe assistance for Ukraine — ed.) is proud to announce… that at a charity concert held at the Lithuanian national TV on 13 January (the anniversary of the failed Soviet attempts to overthrow the Lithuanian government in 1991) the organization managed to collect about 120 000 euros to support Ukraine,» writes Ohman.
According to him, the funds will be used to support the Armed forces of Ukraine in their heroic struggle against Russian aggression and to support the civilian population of Donbass, suffering from the terrible effects of war.
«Charity work is entitled «Together to win» — clearly showed the will and ability, unity and determination of the Lithuanian authorities and civil society to support Ukraine. BLUE/YELLOW would like to thank all their sponsors and supporters in Lithuania and other countries. Next week we will initiate appropriate efforts to implement the support, both military and humanitarian in nature. We, Lithuanian volunteers, will not leave Ukraine in its struggle, feel free to join us in our efforts to support,» urges Ohman.
According to the volunteer, patron of the event is the former President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus (1998-2003, 2004-2009.). The event was supported by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Lithuania, the Lithuanian army and the Ministry of internal Affairs of Lithuania.
Note, January 13, in Vilnius, in the courtyard of the building of the national television and radio broadcasting opened obelisk in memory of those killed 26 years ago, when the Central Soviet authorities in Moscow tried to militarily stifle declared Lithuania’s independence.
Earlier, the Nigerian Christians Daniel recorded a song in support of Ukraine and filmed a video for her. Daniel studied at Lugansk University before the seizure of the University by Pro-Russian militants. Singer calls that time the best period of his life.
