Lithuania on the basis of the «Magnitsky act» has banned the entry of 49 citizens of the Russian Federation

49 citizens who fall under the «Magnitsky act», was denied entry to Lithuania. The corresponding decision of 12 January was attended by the Minister of internal Affairs of Lithuania Eimutis Misunas, reported local news Agency BNS.

Of the migration Department of the Lithuanian foreign Ministry should make public the list in the near future.

The «Magnitsky act», the Seimas of Lithuania approved 16 Nov 2017. The document came into force on 1 January 2018.

Russian Ambassador to Lithuania Alexander Udaltsov called the initiative «an unfriendly step» and threatened to close the entrance to the RF «to a number of undesirable persons» from Lithuania.

The laws, named in honor of businessman based lawyer of company Hermitage Capital Sergey Magnitsky who died in 2009 in a remand prison in Moscow at the age of 37 years, passed in the U.S., Canada, the UK and Estonia.

Under the restrictive measures subject to the person responsible for the violation of human rights and the rule of law.
