Last year the Czech Republic was given to the Ukrainians nearly 66 thousand visas

Last year the Czech Republic issued to citizens of Ukraine almost 66 thousand visas. Such data on the information request of UKRINFORM reported in the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

In particular, the Czech Embassy in Kiev issued 27 802 short-term (up to 90 days stay) visa and was denied 2053 citizens; the General Consulate in Lviv issued 34 789 of such visas and refused to 691.

Regarding visas over 90 days and residence permits, the situation is as follows: the Embassy in Kiev issued such documents 1823 348 and rejected requests, the Consulate General in Lviv — 1364 and 360, respectively.

In the Foreign Ministry said that this is not the final statistics for last year, because «to draw up a long-term visa can take up to 90-120 days.» Also, the Ministry was unable to provide information regarding types of visas with the purpose of the trip.

Previously, the Czech interior Ministry said that now the country reside 458 thousand foreigners, of which more than a quarter — 104.5 thousand citizens of Ukraine.

We will remind also that the President of Czech Republic Milos Zeman said that the Czech Republic should provide assistance to refugees from Ukraine, and not one of those «culturally remote» regions, such as Africa or the middle East.

Note, the «champion» in issuing visas to Ukrainians is Poland.
