Kyiv city Council gave permission to develop the land management project concerning allocation of land to the National memorial complex of Heroes of the Heavenly hundred — the Museum of the revolution of dignity. For a decision voted by 103 deputies of Kyiv city Council, according to UKRINFORM.
«The memorial Museum complex should be built on the site of the tragic event and should become a symbol of the struggle of the Ukrainian people for their freedom, fighting for dignity. The memory of our heroes be celebrated and perpetuated,» said the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko.
Minister of culture Yevhen Nyshchuk, in turn, stressed the importance of this place has not gone under construction: «This place is sacred because it killed our heroes. I hope, therefore, that the judicial history stops and the Verkhovna Rada will adopt all the same, and we will be able to fully hold a competition for the construction of the Museum of the revolution of Dignity.»
The Minister stressed that the families of the Heavenly hundred Heroes will be grateful for the fact that the Kyiv city Council took this landmark decision.
«It’s not just a Museum of the factual material, a specific event. This memorial complex, which will provide the opportunity to conduct certain conferences, round tables, hot discussion and public life. It is a University of the Maidan, it is a philosophy of independence, freedom and dignity of many of our events that we have experienced, gaining freedom,» — said Nyshchuk.
Deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine and Secretary of national Council of reforms Dmytro shymkiv also stressed the importance of establishing such an institution.
«The creation of this Museum — Museum of memory Museum understanding the processes that took place in the Ukrainian society is extremely important. The President acted as the initiator of creation of such a Museum, he advocated a broad, large-scale international competition for the creation of this Museum,» shymkiv said and added that in every capital of the world is a historical landmark that unites generations.
Draft decision of the Kyiv city Council has to give a permission to develop land management project for the Museum of the revolution of Dignity in the Alley of Heroes Heavenly hundreds, 3 in the Pechersk district approximate total area of 1.23 ha. In the respective land provides for the construction, operation and maintenance of the memorial and Museum complex.
Recall that in April 2016 the President Petro Poroshenko granted state institution «Memorial complex of Heroes of the Heavenly hundred — the Museum of the revolution of Dignity» national status.
Director of state institution «Memorial complex of Heroes of the Heavenly hundred — the Museum of the revolution of Dignity» , Igor poshyvaylo predicts the opening of this complex in 5-7 years (until the end of 2023).
