Klitschko met at the White house with Biden

The mayor of Kiev Vitaly Klitschko met at the White House with the Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden. During the meeting they talked about the political situation in Ukraine, reports the press service of the KSCA.

Commenting on the meeting, Klitschko said that the Vice-President of the United States noted the urgent steps that will bring real results in the fight against corruption, fast realization of effective reforms and the unification of political forces around the key objectives and state interests of Ukraine.

Klitschko is convinced that the personal ambitions of politicians who were trusted to bring the change should not take precedence over the interests of the country and the transformations that are expected people.

«Will Ukraine be able to finally take the necessary steps to move forward — see this today in many countries of the world. But most importantly — people in Ukraine, the future of our state «, — stressed Klitschko.

Also during the meeting, the mayor of Kiev raised the issue regarding the deterioration of the situation in Eastern Ukraine. And the fact that Russia continues to violate the Minsk agreements.

Earlier, Klitschko held meetings with Senator John McCain and assistant Secretary of state for Europe and Eurasia Victoria Nuland.

20-24 February the mayor of Kiev took part in the international conference «Combating poverty and inequality to overcome AIDS: addressing HIV, poverty and inequality in cities», held in the office of the world Bank (Washington, USA).
