Klimkin: Normal the introduction of visas for Russians will not give that effect to which we aspire

The introduction of visa regime with the Russian Federation can create problems for residents of the temporarily occupied Crimea. This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, the correspondent of the edition «GORDON».

«Plan for the future is adopted by the Council of national security and defence the decision on creation of the integrated system (I emphasize, not a single step, namely the system) providing the biometric data of foreigners and persons without citizenship, effective control of the movement the territory of Ukraine and other events,» –said Klimkin.

He noted that the system will be implemented step by step.

«And the usual introduction of visas will not give us the desired effect we seek. On the contrary, it will create significant problems in the context of the fact that Russia these problems use to do as a provocation, and a deliberate policy restrictions for citizens who live on the territory of the occupied Crimea», – said the Minister.

On 10 July, the Council of national security and defense of Ukraine adopted a decision to introduce biometric controls for entering the country to foreigners. NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said that the measure «first of all will concern Russian citizens.» A new mode of entry should make before 2018.

First Deputy head of Committee on defense and security, Federation Council of Russia Franz Klintsevich announced that Russia will take measures in response to the toughening of rules of entrance to Ukraine.

The Russian foreign Ministry’s initiative of Ukraine consider the development of a new «iron curtain» to prevent communication between Russians and Ukrainians.
