Kiev and Washington signed a Memorandum on reducing the impact of avaavaroa on the environment

Ukraine and USA signed a Memorandum on reducing the impact of aviation on the environment.

«We signed a document – a Memorandum of understanding providing for reduction of negative impact of aviation emissions into the environment. In 2016, we carried a record number of passengers – about 13 million people. We are interested in exchange of experience and cooperation in the field of safe and environmentally friendly technologies in the aviation sector,» said Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan briefing after the signing of the document in Kiev on Thursday January 26, «Interfax-Ukraine».

He added that in 2019 will set a new international standard regarding emissions of the engine of the aircraft.

«With this purpose we have signed a Memorandum of understanding to facilitate the release of Ukrainian aviation industry on the Western markets, the protection of our technology,» the Minister added.

In turn, the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Maria Yovanovitch noted that the document is more important than just a road map for research and development.

«This Memorandum is signed for a trusted exchange of ideas on aviation and technological norms, the development of partnerships in the private sector, and promotes collaboration,» she said.

We will remind, on 12 July 2016 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft agreement with the US on the liberalization of air transport market and the introduction of the principle of «open skies» between the two countries that will allow to simplify the schedule and to remove a number of limitations in carrying out missions.
