Paintings that were stolen in 2005 from the westfries Museum in Hoorn (the Netherlands), initially to be held by the President of the football club Alchevsk «Steel» Vladimir Polubotka. About it reports De Volkskrant, citing its own sources, reports European true.
As noted by the Dutch publication, the paintings were in the apartment Polubotka in Kiev. After this information became known to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, a special sub-section police raided the premises and found the paintings.
However, according to the publication, the police tried to profit from findings and to sell the paintings to private buyers in Italy.
In addition, the journalists claim the head of the police unit later provided one of the paintings as bribes in order to obtain a good position in the SBU, details not obnarodovat.
After the revolution in Ukraine and the flight of former President Yanukovych, an official of the SBU , as writes the edition, disappeared in the Luhansk, taking with them the stolen paintings. Later in the war the paintings were found in the region of the volunteer battalions.
Now, according to the Dutch newspaper, the paintings are in the hands of different parties. In particular, the publication mentions the name of ex-heads of SBU of Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, despite his categorical statements about nothing to the story.
It is worth noting that in June the number of Ukrainian media reported about the possible involvement of the President of FC «Steel» Polubotka to the financing of terrorists in the Luhansk region. This information has sounded at a briefing in the Ministry of internal Affairs from the Minister’s adviser Stanislav Rechinsky. Subsequently, however, the lawyers Polubotka denied the involvement of his client to the events in the East.
