Jewish organizations condemned video with nudity, which was removed in the gas chamber of the former concentration camp «Stutthof»

The Israeli Organization of Holocaust survivors and the Simon Wiesenthal Center demand of the President of Poland Andrzej Duda to explain who allowed the experimental video filming in the territory of the former concentration camp «Stutthof». On November 29, reported The Times of Israel.

Video «Game of tag» was exhibited in 2015 at the Museum of contemporary art in Krakow. In the video, several naked men and women running into each other in a room with concrete walls. Only now it became known that the video was in a gas chamber «Stutthof», located near Gdansk.

The exposition was closed because of the protests of the Jewish community of Krakow, but then it resumed in the framework of the «protection of the right to freedom of expression for artists,» says the publication.

The head of the Jerusalem office of the Simon Wiesenthal Center Efraim Zuroff called the exhibit «disgusting.»

«It is an insult to the victims and all those who have an idea about morality,» said he.

«Jewish news» wrote that the author of the video is the artist Artur Zmijewski. It is documented on photo and video camera provocative performances, which are often the improvisation and social experiments. In one of his works choir of deaf people performed the mass, the other involved people with amputated limbs. Zmijewski represented Poland at the Venice Biennale in 2005.

Nazi concentration camp «Stutthof» was created in 1939 on the territory occupied by the Third Reich in Poland. During the years of the Second world war in this camp were about 110 thousand prisoners, of which about 65 thousand died. Currently is a Museum.
