IT volunteers will create a unified e-government portal

The Ukrainian team of IT volunteers won a grant from the U.S. on the creation of a unified e-government portal «E-progress», which will establish the exchange of experience of e-government among city authorities and the society, will be an effective tool in the fight against corruption and in General will have a positive impact on the Ukrainian economy. This was announced by Executive Director of the Ukrainian Association of venture capital and private equity (EVCA), the expert Agency on e-government of Ukraine Yannick Measure on his page in Facebook.

«E-progress» is the Central portal for the exchange of experience of e-government among municipalities, public and non-profit organizations for the rapid implementation of e-government in Ukraine», — stated in the message.

According to the Benchmark, the portal will provide e the ranking of cities, which will create positive competition between municipalities, and to provide local authorities with the necessary information and tools for the provision of electronic services.

«Today, there is also iGov fundamental platform that would join the actions aimed at supporting the establishment of e-government, — is spoken in the message. — Promotion of positive news and success stories in the field of e-government will give a push and give confidence to other organizations and municipalities».

Recall that in 2014, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has declared its intention to 2017 to implement the system of e-government in the country. In the next two years it is planned to introduce contactless electronic services and the electronic identification and electronic signature of the citizen.

Another task of the Cabinet is a complete refusal paperwork. In addition, the government plans to 2017 to adopt the law on the unified system of electronic interaction.

In June 2015 a team of Ukrainian IT-volunteers in cooperation with the NGO ICT Competence Center launched the Internet portal iGov.org.ua with the help of which Ukrainian citizens can get state services in electronic format without the personal interaction with government agencies.

E-government is a way of providing information and the delivery of public services to citizens, business, other branches of government and government officials at which personal interaction between the state and the applicant is minimized as much as possible and uses information technology.
