Iran for the first time since sanctions sent oil to Europe

Iran sent the first post-sanctions oil tanker for delivery to Europe. About it reports Bloomberg.

So, the tanker Distya Akula left the cargo terminal of Iran to the Kharg island in the Persian Gulf. On its Board there may be 1 million barrels of oil.

According to managing Director of National Iranian oil company, three first deliveries to Europe are carried out under contracts concluded with France, Spain and Russia.

Iran is trying to restore oil production after the lifting of sanctions in January, planning to increase production and exports at 1 million barrels a day this year.

As reported, world leaders agreed to cancel strict sanctions against Iran in exchange for Tehran’s compliance with its obligations to limit the development of nuclear weapons.

The European Union said that Iran is not removed all sanctions, but only economic and financial constraints associated with its nuclear program.
