IOC allowed five Ukrainians represent other countries at the Games in Rio de Janeiro

The international Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to allow 11 athletes to change citizenship on the eve of the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, of which five former representatives of Ukraine, according to a press release by the IOC.

At the Olympics in Brazil ex-Ukrainians will represent Turkey, Latvia, Russia and Argentina.

Swimmer Victoria Solntseva will play for Turkey, peribonka Irina Khokhlova — for Argentina, pyatiborets Ruslan Nakonechny for Latvia, windsurfer Maksym Oberemko and peribonka Anna Buryak for Russia.

Games-2016 in Rio de Janeiro will be held from 5 to 21 August and will be the first ever Olympics to be held in South America.
