Infrastructure Minister promises to end the «racketeering wagon»

The Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelian announced that the Agency will not allow the existence of the practice of extortion of money for cars from «UZ». About this he wrote on his page in Facebook.

In particular, Omeljan announced the agreement with the leadership of «Ukrzaliznytsia» to hold a meeting between representatives of the IMU, ULTRASONIC and grain Association, the largest steel producers, freight forwarders and exporters.

The Minister expects the meeting the BONDS will offer a fair and transparent mechanism for the allocation of rolling stock on the basis of availability and minimum requirements of consumers.

«We will not allow to return to the shameful practice of extortion of money for cars like this would someone not want», — wrote Omelian.

In August, the Chairman of the Board of UZ Wojciech Balczun said that the company intends to automate the distribution of freight cars in the coming months.

A month later, Deputy Minister of infrastructure Evgeny Kravtsov said that the shortage of freight rolling stock of PJSC «Ukrzaliznytsia» is 9 thousand cars.

Given the write offs old cars, and the dynamics of cargo base, the projections of CTS-Consulting, by the end of 2017, the deficit in the mass segment – wagons will be about 8-10 thousand cars.
