On Monday February 22, Polish activists, politicians and public figures will transfer to local authorities of Warsaw to the proposal.

«We, the undersigned residents of Warsaw, believe that we should salute the fortitude and the dedication of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians and other nationals, including poles, which in November 2013 took to the streets of Kiev, starting undaunted fight for a free and Pro-European Ukraine,» the statement said.

The authors of the initiative propose to name the Heroes of the Maidan one of the streets adjacent to the Park named after Taras Shevchenko in the center of Warsaw.

On February 22, the corresponding statement will be forwarded to the Bureau of geodesy and cadastre of the Warsaw city hall.

They read poems about the Maidan and witnesses ‘ memories of the tragic days of February 2014. «They didn’t want any riots or bloodshed; they only wanted the best for the future and dialogue with the authorities. But the government didn’t want to talk to them…», — sounded in the rain over Pariser the parade ground.

The lyrics sounded German, Ukrainian, English and Russian languages. Solidarity with Ukrainians expressed also German and Polish friends.

In Prague honored the memory of heroes of Heavenly Hundred

The protesters honoring the heroes of the Heavenly Hundreds in Prague called upon to investigate the murder of participants of mass protests in Kiev two years ago.

Ukrainian community of Australia held a series of commemorative and memorial events to mark the anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity and reverence to the memory of heroes of Heavenly Hundred.

«I know that many of you, Ukrainian Australians have been active participants in these events directly or remotely. It proves once again that the dignity, freedom, values are common to all of us», – noted in his address to the Ukrainian community in Australia as the Ambassador to Australia Nikolay Kulinich.

In turn, the Government of the Union of Ukrainian Organizations of Australia (the afuo) has called on all its members «to remember in your prayers those who have been an active participant in the Revolution, those who died, those who continue the struggle for dignity and sovereignty of Ukraine and for their families.»

«We urge and continue to provide assistance to Ukraine!», – reads the afuo.

A memorial service in memory of the heroes of the Heavenly Hundred were held in Ukrainian churches in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.

In addition, many Australian Ukrainians joined the Embassy initiated action to conduct a photo exhibition of the Revolution of Dignity, provided for free use by Ukrainian photographer Maxim Trebukhov, who himself was the participant of those events.

«Photographs of Maxim Trebuhov allowed not only to remind Australian Ukrainians about the events of two years ago, but also to attract the attention of the Australian public to the victim, which Ukraine paid a price for their desire for freedom and dignity», — said the representative of the Embassy of Ukraine in Australia.
