In the Venezuelan capital bus drivers in protest blocked streets

In the Venezuelan capital Caracas bus drivers blocked streets in protest, eight hours of blocking traffic in the city. According to BBC Ukrainian, drivers are demanding more pay and protection.

Protesters complain of lack of funds to maintain buses, and a shortage of spare parts.

In the rally in Caracas was attended by about half of the bus fleet of the city.

The representative of the drivers said that they would continue the protest on Thursday if the government does not respond to their complaints.

Venezuela is in deep economic crisis, which opponents of President Nicolas Maduro believe it is ineffective policy.

In the country there is a shortage of many commodities, against which the opposition won parliamentary elections.

According to the IMF, in 2016 inflation in Venezuela will reach 720%. In 2015, the country recorded inflation of 275%.

In early June, in Venezuela food riots began due to the fact that the government purchased several thousand tons of food that will be distributed through the public tips for those in need.
