The Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol confirms the refusal of Italy to grant Kiev the former people’s Deputy Igor Markov. About this informed the head of ukrborh of Interpol Basil Bondage, transmit Ukrainian news.
«Yes, refused to extradite,» he said.
Bondage said that Interpol refused to extraditee Markov, referring to discrepancy of requirements for extradition, the Charter of the organization, in particular, seeing in it political motives.
As reported, on August 12, 2015 Interpol Markov was detained in Italy on suspicion of disorderly conduct and bodily injury. We are talking about beating in 2007 in Odessa the participants of the rally near the regional state administration against the installation in the town of monument to Catherine II. Italian authorities have given Markov a free lawyer.
August 13, Primorsky district court of Odessa adopted the decision on the correspondence arrest of Igor Markov.
On 21 August the court of Genoa has changed Markov as a preventive measure to house arrest, which would be served in the hotel room.
September 5, former people’s Deputy Igor Markov was released from the prison of Genoa, where he landed on August 12.
The Ministry of justice has sent to Italy the documents concerning the extradition of the former MP.
