The Russian «Vnesheconombank» did not consent to the Ukrainian businessman Alexander Yaroslavsky for the purchase of its Ukrainian asset, «Prominvestbank». This was stated by the head of Vnesheconombank Sergey Gorkov, informs TASS.
Gorkov said that the negotiations with the Yaroslavl did take place in the beginning and in the middle of 2017, but they are «inconclusive».
The head of the Russian Bank also noted that he gave «no consent» to the provision in the national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) document the intention to buy Yaroslavl «Prominvestbank».
That Yaroslavl sent to the NBU a package of documents necessary for the purchase of «Prominvestbank», said the Deputy head of the NBU Ekaterina Rozhkova. The documents were obtained by the national Bank on the evening of 8 December.
According to her, «Prominvestbank» claimed a Russian businessman Pavel Fuks and the people’s Deputy from parliamentary group «people’s Will» Maxim Mikitas, but they officially denied «in the summer».
In March 2017 the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has approved sanctions against the «savings Bank», «Prominvestbank», VTB, «Bmbank» and VS Bank for a period of one year.
Rozhkov argued that all banks with Russian capital are in talks about selling.
On 14 may, the Ukrainian media reported that «Prominvestbank» I want to buy Fuchs and Mikitas.
On 18 may the Supervisory Board of Vnesheconombank considered the proposal of DCH Yaroslavl on purchase of «Prominvestbank», a subsidiary of VEB in Ukraine.
