In the rating of economic freedom Ukraine is ranked 149 th out of 159 countries

The Fraser Institute (Canada) made a rating of economic freedom, which Ukraine was ranked 149 th out of 159 countries. The rating is published on the website of the Institute.

Ukraine is in the list between Angola and Iran. The drafters ranked it the former Communist countries and called Ukraine «one of the lowest in the world.»

The ranking was determined taking into account five main factors: the economy’s dependence on government, the legal system and protection of property, access to Finance, freedom of trade internationally and regulation (normative legal acts) of credit, labor and business.

Compared with the ranking of economic freedom according to the 2014 Ukraine dropped by 14 positions down. In 2000 the country ranked 117-th place in the list.

In early 2016, Ukraine took the 162-th position in the Index of economic freedom, calculated by the American research Institute Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal. When the Ukrainian state was named the least free in Europe.
