In Romania mass protests because of the decision of the Ombudsman

The inhabitants of Bucharest, despite strong frosts, on 11 January came the mass protests in connection with the legislative initiative of the Ombudsman of Romania Victor CORBA in respect of the rights of former convicts, according to UKRINFORM.

The discontent of the citizens of Romania led to the intention of the Ombudsman to lift the ban for anyone convicted to occupy high positions. In Romania, it is prohibited by law. The Ombudsman also filed a lawsuit in the constitutional court of Romania to repeal the law.

According to the interviewed participants of the protests in Bucharest, the Commissioner for human rights Romania protects the interests of a narrow circle of individuals with a criminal past.

In the country subject to the petition for the resignation of the Ombudsman. Under the document, posted in social networks, has already signed up about 150 thousand people.

Earlier the Minister of internal Affairs of Romania , Petre Toba resigned over a corruption scandal in his Department.

In December, the ruling coalition of Romania threatened the President with impeachment.
