In Parliament registered a bill about anti-corruption court

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a draft law on the anti-corruption court, informs the Chairman of the Committee on preventing and combating corruption Yegor Sobolev (faction «Samopomich»).

«Registered a bill, which, I think, is one of the most difficult and important tasks this year. We are talking about anti-corruption court,» Sobolev wrote on his page on the social network Facebook on Wednesday 1 February.

According to him, the task of MPs is «to create in Ukraine, at least one court where they can obtain a just verdict of the highest officials of the state.»

MP said that the bill proposes to create a Higher anti-corruption court, which will hear cases under investigation anti-corruption Bureau and anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office. It is envisaged that in the anti-corruption court will work 70 judges. The judges will give permission to the audition, the arrest and suspension of the top kleptocrats and give them sentences. In addition, the bill proposes to establish a special chamber of the 30 judges in the Supreme court as the appellate court.

«All anti-corruption judges should be set high fees and provided security,» — said the MP.

Sobolev also said that for the selection of judges to serve in the anti-corruption court, in addition to the Public Council of virtue, it is proposed to involve representatives of USA, EU countries, UK.

Earlier, the President of the Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio noted that corruption is a destabilizing factor for the judicial system in Ukraine. Additionally, the anti-corruption court in Ukraine is a necessity, and the Venice Commission is ready to support its creation, said Gianni Buquicchio.
