In Kiev on the site of the monument to Lenin will set up a new installation

7 November, the Taras Shevchenko Boulevard in place of the former monument to Lenin presented an installation by the Iranian artist Mahmoud bakhshi «an Endless celebration». About it reports Fund «Isolation» in Facebook.

«Installing «an Endless celebration» Mahmoud Bakshi is an ironic comment on the third-party observer to the historical moment in which is now Ukraine», — stated in the message.

The artist developed this project as an attempt to visually articulate the historical choice made by the Ukrainians when they removed the monument to Lenin from his seat.

«For installation Bakshi chose three colors of a traffic light to help with red (silhouette Lenin) to demonstrate the impossibility of a return to the past. Green (virgin Mary) and yellow (pop singer Madonna), in turn, demonstrate possible ways forward», — stated in the message.

It is noted that the installation will set the framework of the project «Public agreement» on the problem of interaction of the society with a commemorative objects.

The opening ceremony will take place at 18:00 on 7 November. You can watch it will be until November 21.

«November 7 is no longer officially celebrated in Ukraine, and «an Endless celebration» Bakshi becomes the symbol of liberation from the burden of the past and act of celebration,» — noted in the Fund «Isolation».

8 November at 19:00 in the creative community Izone (Naberezhno-Luhova str., 8) will be a discussion with the artist.

As you know, summer in place of the former monument to Lenin on Shevchenko Boulevard was the installation of «Inhabiting shadows», thanks to which the capital’s residents could feel the leader of the proletariat.
