In India, cinema is obliged to include the national anthem before a session

The Supreme court of India held that in every cinema before the film starts, you need to include the national anthem. The decision States that this rule shall take effect ten days after adoption, reports the BBC Ukrainian.

The audience needs to listen to the anthem standing, added the judge.

During the 1960-ies and 70-ies of the cinema regularly put the national anthem, but later this practice was abandoned.

In India no unified law on the national anthem, and the provisions of the laws of each of the 29 States that make up the country differ.

In 2003, the state Maharastra in the West of India made it mandatory for all cinemas in its territory to play the national anthem. At the same time last year, the Supreme court of Madras has taken a contrary decision for the state of Tamil Nadu.

However, on Wednesday, the bench of two judges of the Supreme court decided: the hymn you want to enable in all States, and its implementation should be accompanied shown on the screen the image of the national flag.
