In Finland, brought the case about the disclosure of state secrets after publishing complex for the surveillance of military of the Russian Federation

In connection with the publication in the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat information on the existence in the town Tikkakoski secret electronic intelligence complex in Finland opened a criminal case about divulging state secrets.

This is stated in the statement on the official website of the office of the President of Finland Sauli Niinistö.

«The secret documents were illegally transferred to Helsingin Sanomat. In this context, began a criminal investigation. Disclosure of contents of secret documents… can cause serious damage,» the document reads.

16 Dec Helsingin Sanomat published an article, «the Secret place of Finland», which stated that in Northern Finland there is a research Institute that monitors the movement of Russian troops on the territory of the former Leningrad military district.

According to the publication, specialists study electromagnetic radiation, to estimate the number of troops, their tasks and movement on the territory of the Russian Federation.

The newspaper cited classified documents, some of which dated from 2007. On the website of the President of Finland says that the newspaper got confidential data illegally.
