In the special project «encyclopedia of the Maidan» includes six films: «World», «Hottabych and his team», «Achishena», «Êvromajdan SOS», «Kancelarska hundred» and «Mova». The following films will be shown at the XIII International festival of documentary films on human rights Docudays UA in Kyiv.
The whole cycle of «encyclopedia of the Maidan» will be presented in 252 cities and towns of Ukraine during the travelling festival in 158 the Docudays UA film clubs and cinemas in Europe and America in the framework of the project «to See Ukraine: Docudays UA traveling the world,» reports Gazeta.ua.
«Encyclopedia of the Maidan» — a special project of the International documentary film festival on human rights Docudays UA, which is supported by the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine. This cycle of short documentaries. Movie heroes — human rights defenders, volunteers, military doctors, journalists, bloggers, ordinary people who changed the reality in today’s Ukraine. Docudays UA (international documentary film festival on human rights Docudays UA) is the largest international documentary film festival in Ukraine. Held annually in Kiev. For the first time a festival called «Days of films on human rights» took place in 2003. Then the program included documentaries and feature films. Most of them were Ukrainian premieres. The second festival was held in 2005 and had the additional title of «Ukrainian context». This time the program consisted of documentary films. After the screenings at the cinema House in Kyiv, the festival has traveled throughout the regions of Ukraine. So there was the Traveling festival «Days of films on human rights».
Next year at the International documentary film festival Amsterdam (IDFA) «Ukrainian context» was accepted into the international Network of festivals on human rights Human Rights Film Network (HRFN).
In 2006 the festival’s first works jury, and next year your prize, also administered by the Ukrainian journalists. In 2008, the program was divided into two competitions: the creative and human rights — with its own team of the jury each.
